Carolina Lacerda

Bio:

Carolina joined EY in December 2022 as a Senior Director within the EYP - Strategy and Transactions group based out of Miami, Florida, focusing  primarily on the Caribbean, LatAm and Southeast US/Florida markets in the real estate, hospitality, travel and tourism industries.  She brings over 20 years of real estate & hospitality experience with focus on Latin-America.
Prior to joining EY, Carolina spent 14 years at JLL where she recently was last located in the JLL Mexico office as the Hotel Director and in charge of the LatAm Hotel Transactions. She developed and carried out the business plan to establish the JLL Hotels & Hospitality practice in Mexico. Prior to that, she was in Miami for 8 years and before in the Brazil office where Carolina helped develop the company’s consulting services in Colombia, Peru, and Chile.
 --Responsible for approximately $3.0M of annual revenue in global strategic advisory and buy-side advisory assignments on behalf of institutional clients.

--Lead strategy assignments for hotel chains, hotel groups, cruise lines and theme parks around growth strategy, optimization, disposition, new concepts, and new brands.

--Lead portfolio valuations, complex master plan feasibility and conceptualization and operator selection for hotel investors.

--Responsible for approximately $5M of annual revenue in Mexico specifically, by leading strategic advisory and buy-side advisory assignments, including engagements involving potential M&A activity in the All-Inclusive sector, expansion plans, and other.

--Led the transaction advisory of over US$3.0 billion in assets from valuation to closing, in addition to developing and maintaining relationships throughout the US, Latin America, and Caribbean region.  

--Led complex deals including land and residential components, complex entity structures, unique local laws and regulations, volatile currencies, and anti-trust approval processes.  

--Advised different buyer and seller groups on the hospitality and real estate industry in Latin America, from institutional REITs and funds to family offices.  Recent transactions include the St. Regis Punta Mita (Mexico), Hilton Sao Paulo (Brazil), The Resort at Pedregal (Mexico), JW Marriott Mexico City (Mexico), Sheraton & Luxury Collection Santiago (Chile), Viceroy Riviera Maya (Mexico), Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman (Cayman), Waldorf Astoria Casa Marina and Waldorf Astoria The Reach in Key West (FL), among others. 

--Expanded relationships and projects in LatAm, Caribbean and the US with a focus on more institutional and larger family offices.
